I recommend tracking the edge of a screen to track it. If you have a reflection on the surface you are tracking, you will not get proper data because that reflection information is moving on another plane. Note: Turning manual keys on and adjusting the track WITH the surface tool will affect your track, and the splines because they are linked to the overall track. Only the grid sticking on and the surface sticking on shows you whether or not your track is solid. It can be used as roto, and it might help to think of it as that, but the roto sticking on where you adjust it will not necessarily imply that your track is solid. Correcting the x-splines does nothing to your track, and will not change your data. The surface is how we display the data for the purposes of using it in a corner pin export. The problem you are describing sounds like a bad track, not a surface issue. Our tracker is looking at a pattern of pixels all moving relative to one another to define a surface. ![]() The surface and grid are representing the track, and the x-spline is only linked to that track and defines the area the tracker is looking at. The X spline is only the data that the tracker is looking at.
